Legal aspects

The Electronic Communications Act in South Africa provides a framework for electronic document management system as replacement for traditional mail. In addition, SARS has accepted that Tax Invoices, Credit or Debit Notes may be issued not only as paper documents but also as electronic documents. The EDD document management system complies fully with the encryption requirements and the stipulations detailed in Section 20 and 21 of the Value Added Tax Act of 1991.
Standard Functionality

The EDD document management system obtains its source data from the current print stream and converts the content into a dot-for-dot electronic format that is easily distributed via email and/or presented on the Web. Standard or customised reports are provided for accounting and audit trail purposes. Each type of document processed through EDD (eg: statements, invoices etc) will be assigned a unique profile containing specific information defining the rules and parameters for delivering the document.
