Graphic Design at Lasercom

While you flip through a magazine, book or catalogue, you don’t necessarily think of the conceptualizing that has gone into each page. There is however a very thought out process that is involved in the compiling of such a document.

In order for a product to be readable, there are certain skills that are required. Everything needs to fit together, flow and there needs to be a balance between copy and images. This process requires the very precise skills of a graphic designer. There are certain elements that the average Joe Soap would probably not consider when looking at a document.

Before a document can be print ready, there are various levels of expertise that are required. Some companies specialize in Graphic Design and then charge an arm and a leg. Lasercom not only provides various services within digital printing and mailing, but the document composition and graphic design department ensures that all material is of the highest quality.

There are a lot of companies out there who largely depend on their corporate identity. If it does not create a positive recall in the consumer’s minds, then it is probably a waste of time.

Conceptualizing

It is the job of the Graphic Designer to ensure that each piece of work is relevant and stands out in the niche market of the brand. This is where the important step of conceptualizing comes in. Lasercom ensures that this process of communicating with the client about ideas reflects in the work that is produced. It is important that the Graphic Designer keeps ideas fresh. The idea that is portrayed in branding needs to be carried through the company, marketing and internal communications.

Layout Design

Once the idea has been resolved and any creases ironed out, the Graphic Designer then begins designing the layout of the piece of work. This is an important process as it is what the visually attractive aspect of the document is dependent upon. Arranging the text and images and positioning them in a complimentary way will draw the reader in.

Desk Top Publisher

Once this creative process is complete, the Graphic Designer then brings the page layout to the computer. Special programmes are used to finalize any design that may need to be completed. Once this has been done, the document needs to be signed off with the client. It is then sent to the printing department at Lasercom where the final product is produced.
